Call the police next time!

However, if one of the kids would have been severely injured from the fight and the teacher just stood and watched without intervening, would that be considered conspiracy since she obviously knew about but didn't do anything to stop it? Just throwing it out there :)

Not to mention the potential civil suit either one of them, or the parents would put on the school system!

Damned if you do! Damned if you don't!

I think the teacher went too far with her actions and definitely SHOULD be charged with ASSAULT. Had she been injured by one of the boys while trying to break up the fight, this would not even be a discussion and the question about whether the boys were to be expelled would not even be a subject of discussion here. Schools have a zero tolerance policy against violence and teachers must be held to the same standards as the students or they send a mixed message to the kids. The difference is that the teachers are usually protected by a union, so even with pending or resolved charges, they are able to keep their jobs, where the students are expelled and that is where the zero tolerance policy goes terribly wrong. As mentioned in this article, "The school has placed the teacher on temporary leave." Would that be temporary leave "with or without pay"???? The students are expelled and are unable to register at another school under school of choice due to the expulsion. What you failed to mention in your article Tony, is what punishment the boys received by the school. I'm sure they were punished for fighting.

Ewww, No Tony! Save the baby....Who cares if she was on her way to get an abortion?! She is as good as dead, might as well give the baby to a family who cannot have a child of their own. It makes no difference in the life of the comatose mother now.

This definately applies to my ex boss. I was fired from my customer service position because of my bosses manipulative tactics. When I did well he would tell me I didn't do well enough even when I would follow his instructions. If mistakes were made via his instructions-he would blame me. He would belittle me in front of coworkers to the point where I actually had to excuse myself one day- because he made me cry. He spent most of his time on the internet, while I completed his work.He would constantly ask me personal questions about my life and who I was dating. He even went so far as taking pictures of me at work- even after I told him I didn't appreciate being photographed. Unfortunately I never complained to my agency about this issue because I was trying to be a team player and not make waves in the office. My boss would always come to me later and apologize, so I would try and forgive and forget. I wish I had complained. I've never been treated so badly in my life. Now I'm out here looking for another job and wondering what I'm supposed to say when the interviewer asks why I was fired from my last job.
